History

Vetter Health Services, a LifeShare client since August 2012, operates thirty long-term care facilities in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Wyoming. Jack and Eldora Vetter’s founding vision was to “give the elderly members of our community a place to feel respected, secure, comfortable and happy.” Vetter’s vision aligns with LifeShare’s vision to help enrich the senior living experience. LifeShare’s CommunityShare product supports Vetter’s local administrators and team members in their community-centered management philosophy. This helps team members cater to individual needs of the residents in their community.

Sonya Martin, LifeShare Administrator at Parkview Heights, described the quality partnership between Vetter and LifeShare. “We have partnered with LifeShare for awhile so it has been neat to see the different changes, updates, and upgrades over the years. We have had input in the process. It is a very useable product. We are loving it!”

Application

Initially, Vetter was looking for a message/welcome board for facilities that was easy for people to use and required limited support.“Our experience with LifeShare has been really positive. LifeShare provides a dependable support infrastructure that is very responsive. The web-based admin is pretty easy to use. Even with employee turnover, LifeShare’s infrastructure eliminates any worry of downtime when bringing on a new employee. Once staff receives their admin login, they take off and go. Within Vetter, we have pretty much set LifeShare as the standard for Welcome Boards,” explained Joe Sturgeon, Network Administrator for Vetter Health Services.

Vetter uses CommunityShare for communication with residents and team members for menus, activities, birthdays, memorials, announcements, advertisements, videos, and photos of Life Enrichment activities. Some campuses, like Brookestone Village in Omaha, Nebraska, also use the CommunityShare slideshow to display encouraging words and Bible verses from the Chaplain, as well as spotlight new team members. Parkview Heights in Garnett, Kansas has utilized some of the on-demand features like games and videos. Currently uploaded in their Videos Channel are clips of the town from the 1800s-1945. Team members love the ability to play them anytime they want for residents on their CommunityShare TVs.

Sonya Martin summed up the impact CommunityShare has had on her facility, “I would absolutely recommend LifeShare products. CommunityShare has been a great tool to update and communicate with residents and families. It has been very easy to log in from the online access anywhere and make updates as needed. We are also excited about rolling out the LifeShare Family Mobile App as a way to further that communication.”
