As a difficult school year ramps up, we’ve been working on some ways to help our communities cope.

During June, Spectrio designated a percentage of new sales to support the Common Ground Foundation, a program designed to empower high school students from under-served communities to become future leaders.

In August, rather than holding our traditional school supply drives in the offices, our team members nominated their favorite teachers for assistance in an online school supply drive. We spotlighted the instructors’ Amazon Wishlists. Spectrio colleagues could then buy everything from traditional supplies, such as books, disinfecting wipes, printer paper, and pencils, to things like laptop stands, microphone headsets, and tripods for tablets that would be used in virtual classrooms. Team members were also able to send Amazon or other online gift cards to teachers in lieu of purchasing specific supplies.

Spectrio then matched the donations, contributing $400 to AdoptAClassroom.org, a non-profit that helps advance equity in education by giving teachers and schools access to the resources they need.

In a year plagued by a pandemic and unprecedented challenges across the country, the need in our communities has never been greater. We’re proud to step up and assist.
