Whether in front of the camera or behind a microphone, Pat’s background is anything but dull. She has emceed the Miss USA Pageant and announced at the Virginia Slims Tennis Tournament. Pat’s conducted interviews with everyone from former presidents to musical legends. She is also the recipient of the American Women in Radio and Television Radio Broadcaster Award and has been named Tampa Bay Woman of the Year.
How did she get her start? Pat credits her award-winning 30 year career to being in the right place at the right time. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a B.A. in English/Liberal Arts, she volunteered behind the scenes at WEDU Channel 3, Tampa’s public broadcasting station. Everything clicked and she realized her love of broadcasting. Pat became the station’s Executive Producer of Public Affairs, interviewing the likes of Pavarotti, President Jimmy Carter, Steve Allen and many others.
After making the transition to radio, Pat eventually landed at Q-105 FM in Tampa, home of the original Q Morning Zoo program. She was named the “First Lady” of radio news and became a morning drive personality for the groundbreaking show. Here she regularly rubbed elbows with musical greats including the Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffet, Wolfman Jack, Heart, the Monkeys and more. The program was inducted into the Broadcast Hall of Fame when it was the first to be simulcast on television. “It was an exciting time, kicking off this new format that everyone wanted to copy,” Pat notes. “I got to work with some truly amazing, talented individuals.”
Following many years in radio, Pat launched her own broadcasting company, Targa 7 Incorporated, with her husband Darrel Stewart. From television and radio commercials, to corporate training and narrations, she has an impressive client roster that includes IBM, Raytheon, Goodyear, Lockheed and Samsung. She is currently the voice of Hillsborough County Government TV and does work for Collier County Public Schools. If you live in the Tampa area there’s a good chance you’ve heard her somewhere!

When she’s not behind the microphone, Pat enjoys spending time with husband Darrel, step daughters Kelly and Kara, and granddaughter Lindsey Jo. She loves horseback riding and volunteers at Magic Beans Village Foundation, which offers therapeutic horseback riding for individuals with developmental disabilities. “I help out as a horse handler, side walker, groomer, or whatever they need done,” Pat said. “It’s such a wonderful organization that helps children develop confidence and a feeling of independence.”
